It’s official, I have a blog and I know how to use it.

I have finally decided to take the plunge and add a blog to my site. I always wanted an easy way to share information with visitors and I’m super excited to start this journey. Keep coming back to my site and check for updates right here on the blog.  I will try to update at least monthly.

Good Friday 2018 I got an email from Skye's previous owner telling me she couldn't keep Skye anymore.  Her job had changed and she was not home enough.  On Easter, Lis De Souza was coming back to WI from the East Coast and was able to pick Skye up in Ohio and bring her home.  She groomed her a bit and I picked her up on Monday.  Skye has settled into the household and Cinder is teaching her how to play with a big dog.  She is very sweet.  I am looking for a show home but it needs to be the perfect one.  Otherwise she will stay right here at Lyric!

Q is now living in Colorado with her new mom, Kathy J.  It was not an easy decision to make.  Q was a very sweet girl but she wasn't getting along with her daughter, Cinder.  It was very stressful for Q to have Cinder coming and going.   On June 8, 2017, Q got on the plane in Madison, WI and flew to Denver, CO to meet up with her new mom.  They are getting along great together and  Q is enjoying being an only dog.  I cried many tears as I came to the decision that I needed to re-home Q.

I held Q when she was seconds old and we had accomplished many things together.  She was my first Bred-By Champion and my first home bred mum.  This morning when I came down the stairs I started crying because I realized I would never again have Q meet me at the bottom of the stairs.  She was alway so happy to see me in the morning.  She liked to follow me from room to room just to hang out.  I'm sure Q will enjoy living the Mile High Life with Kathy but my life will be a bit emptier without her.

Q

Q is from my first litter of Gordon Setters.  She was my first champion and she finished completely from the Bred-By Exhibitor class.  Q is always ready to go on an adventure.  The day before her 5 month birthday she was hit by a pick-up truck in front of my house.  I was so scared.  Luckily it turned out she just had road rash on her right hind leg and she must of pulled some tendons she ran funny for a couple of months.  Q finished her champion titles in both AKC and UKC and started on her Grand Champion title in AKC but I decided to retire her to the whelping box.  She really didn't enjoy being at shows.  She loved the ring but hated the dogs walking by her crate.  Q gave me 3 lovely litters- Nail Polish Litter  out of Orion- GCH Timbaray's Intrigue CD JH; James Bond Litter out of Tamhas-CH Tartana's Noble Tamhas Camble JH OA OAJ and the Fantasy Litter out of Player-AM CH/CAN MBIS RBIS GCHEX Triseter Celtic Player RN FD MH.  I ended up keeping a girl (Cinder) from Player's litter.  Q enjoyed her while she was young but once Cinder started going to shows it got too stressful for Q to deal with going from an only dog to having to sharing me with Cinder.  There were a few scary moments when Q tried to chase Cinder off her property so I decided to rehome Q.  Q now lives with Kathy J. in a suburb of Denver, CO and LOVES being the center of Kathy's love and affection.  She is still near and dear to my heart and I miss her terribly but Q is much happier and not so stressed.

I have been really blessed with the Gordon Setters that have been a part of my life.  It all started with Flame- GRCH U-CH Glen Oaks' Afterglow o' Amethyst RN JH THDN READ (Nirvana- AM/CAN/NZ/AUST CH Triseter Ebonie Nirvana x Kinsey- CH Glen Oaks Kinsey Report).   Here's a picture of her as an eight week old puppy.  She was such a peanut- barely 9 pounds when she came to live with us.  Flame and I had many adventures together.  She was truly my heart dog.  I lost her January 2, 2015 but she lives on in her children and grandchildren.  I am so happy that her daughter Q- CH U- CH Lyric 'n' Amethyst Unquenchable Fire (MacE- CH U-CH Amethyst's Sparkling MacEdan x Flame)  and granddaughter Cinder- Lyric's Enduring Flame (Player- CH/CAN  BIS GRCH Triseter Celtic Player x Q) live with me.
