Cinder at 8 weeks.  She was my little yellow girl.
August 28 I took Cinder to her first show.  It was a local United Kennel Club (UKC) show.  They offer a Novice puppy class for puppies 3-6 months.  I entered Cinder in 2 shows and came back with 2 Best in Show Puppy rosettes!  Thanks to Judges Stephanie Mueller and Dean Spielvogl for the wins.  Cinder has also been attending puppy class at our local all-breed club.  She is doing very well and enjoys racing around with the other 10 puppies in the class.  Right now she has an awesome recall- I hope that continues through the teenage months!
2017
January started out Cinder's show debut.  The first Thursday in January, Cinder and Lis De Souza (her co-breeder/owner) headed up to St. Paul, MN for the North Country Gordon Setter Specialty and the Land o' Lakes All-Breed shows.   At the Specialty on Friday, Cinder was entered in Puppy Sweepstakes and was 2nd out of 4 in her class.  We had her entered in Bred By Exhibitor (BBE) class for her regular class and she walked.  She was getting tired and bouncy by then!

Sunday she was entered in the All-Breed show in the BBE class and took 3rd place out of 5 bitches, all of them at least a year older than she was.  I was very pleased with my little girl's wins!
Cinder is taking a break from classes until the weather gets better. Her last class was Puppy Agility and she loved it!  They were very impressed with her focus and fearlessness. In March we are starting another Puppy Agility class just to keep her busy!
February
Cinder at 8 1/2 months after visiting Lis De Souza's grooming shop.  She is growing up so fast!   She is pretty and sweet- what a great combination!
May 7
Cinder was entered in the Badger Kennel Club show.  She won the Bred-By-Class and was Reserve Winner's Bitch to her half sister- Juno.
July 2
Cinder went to the Kettle Moraine Dog Show.  She was the only Gordon Setter entered so I let her Junior Handler show her.  Cinder got Best of Breed!  Not hard when you are the only dog entered.  Sarah and Cinder looked nice going around the ring (I had the hide several rings over).  After lunch Sarah and Cinder had a Canine Good Citizen test.  Cinder passed!  She is now officially known as Lyric's Enduring Flame CGC.  Hopefully in the next year she gets a couple more titles!
September 6
Cinder passed her Trick Dog Novice test!  She did the following tricks:   touch, 2 paws on a chair, spin, find it (she found a treat under a cup), and tunnel.    Her official name (pending AKC approval) is Lyric's Enduring Flame CGC TKN.

We started Agility Basic class tonight.  She did great!  The teeter totter was  kind of scary but everything else she flew through.
October 1
We took Cinder to the Rockford-Freeport, IL shows.  She was Reserve Winner's Bitch and won the BBE class.  Then she went on to a BBE Sporting Group 1.  I was so thrilled.  After that is was time for Junior Showmanship.  Sarah Foster showed her and they placed 2nd.  They are both going to be a good team with a bit more practice.
October 3-5
Cinder and her half brother, Norris, along with the humans (Laurie, Lis, Kristie, & Sarah)  headed over to Frankenmuth, MI for the 2017 Gordon Setter National Specialty.  What a fun time we all had.

Cinder looked wonderful and moved beautifully but did not have any placements.  Norris however placed 3rd in the Open Dog Class.  It was so fun seeing all of the beautiful dogs and getting reacquainted with old friends.

This is Cinder flying around the ring with Lis in Puppy Sweepstakes.
December 17
Today Cinder went to a local UKC show.  We had a lovely time and some nice wins!  Show 1 under Judge Stephanie Mueller Cinder was Best Female for her 1st competition win.  Show 2 under Judge Dr. Bev Felten Cinder was Best Female, Best of Winners, and Best of Breed for her 2nd competition win!  She now has 2/3 competition wins and 80/100 points toward her UKC Champion title.

2018
January 14- Cinder took Winner's Bitch from the Bred-By Class for her 1st point.  Thank you to Judge Connie Gerstner Miller  for the win.
February 10- 11- Cinder went to Ixonia, WI for some UKC shows.  She came home a champion!  They didn't have a photographer so I don't have a new champion picture.   Thank you to Sarah Foster, Cinder's junior handler, for the great job with the brat child aka Cinder!
May 6 Cinder was Reserve Winner's Bitch at the Badger Kennel Club show at the Jefferson Cty Fairground in Jefferson, WI.
May 20- Cinder went to the Oshkosh shows and won her class.  Not hard when you are the only one!!  No other awards.

July 1- Cinder went to the Kettle Moraine Dog Show at West Bend, WI.  She was Winner's Bitch from the Bred-By Class for her 2nd point.  Only 13 more to go!

August 25-27- We went to Canada to attend the Storming, Dundas, & Glengarry Dog Association shows  & specialties in Long Sault, ON.  Friday, August 25 at the All-breed show under Judge Alex Rojas, Cinder was Winner's Bitch and Best of Winners for 3 points.  Then Judge Jim Covey awarded her 4th place at the GSCC National Specialty.  Saturday at the All-breed show  under Joanne Fernall, Cinder received 3rd place and at the Ottawa Valley All Setter Specialty under Judge Sandra Mashford, she was 3rd again.  Sunday at the Ottawa Valley Pointing Dog Specialty, Heather Brennan awarded Cinder  2nd place and the All-breed show under Judge Rui Oliveira she received 3rd place.  Monday was just an All-breed show and Judge Jan Buchanan awarded her 3rd place.   I was so pleased with all her placements.  Thanks to her 3 handlers- Alistair Sutherland, Kristeen Davidson-Christman, and Susan Howe and to my husband, Alan, who took some lovely photos.
